Welcome to Starfleet Academy. Please carefully read this simulations guide to better understand sim functions and protocals.
Simming protocals
Actions
During a sim, it is interesting to describe his/her actions. Actions describe with these . For example:
CO ::Walks from the turbolift to the command chair and turns head towards the helsman:: Set course for the station!
HELM ::Presses on the controls to set a course:: Course set, sir!

In some cases, you might choose for your character to be telepathic, you can read a person's mind, and communicate with that person if he/she is also a telepath using these{{}}, and like this if you communicate {{~nick~ }}. If you are not telepath, you cannot react to their thoughts because you cannot actually hear them. But you can use these {{}} to simply display your thoughts.

Sometimes, you might be confused during a sim. In some cases, you might be lost or just misunderstanding. If so, you cannot ask the question in plain chat because it might confuse others. That is why you use these "<<>>" For example:
CSO <>
These are sometimes possible questions. But it is best to keep it at a minimum to further enjoy the sim.
Communication
Person to person: (During sim)
If there was an officer in the engine room and he/she wanted to communicate to the bridge, he/she would go about it this way:

+TAPS+ CEO to CO, warp engines are now functional.
The response:
+TAPS+ CO to CEO, acknowledged, bridge out.

Ship to ship:
To communicate from ship to ship, the simmer would proceed this way: (Please note that the CO will speak but have the communications officer open a channel)

+COMM+ Channel open! (Then the CO would proceed. Also note the CO will perhaps provide a guest appearance for the communique)
In some cases, you might be asked something like:
CO Have ops clear us for departure! COMM Ops has cleared us!

***NOTE***
-During simulations, it is best to develop your character, elaborate and make your actions clear, which create interest and amusement.
-Also note that the only the CO can make the -----ACTION's, this gives and/or creates plot changes that make interesting the story and shows where the sim stands.
-During a simulation, please refrain from using /me's.

SDF Guidelines

-On SDF channels, please do not swear, flood or advertise other channels or orgs. Some are sensitive to cursing and flooding makes everyone "lag" which sometimes disrupt the sim.
-If you wish to have a bot aside from the one provided to SDF channels, please have it approved by one of the ops.
-Some guests/members of SDF might recruit "newbies", newcomers-which is acceptable, but please refrain from recruiting from other sim orgs.
*****The SDF official bot is Database.
